Microsoft updates ‘Pix’ app for iPhone that turns photos into paintings

Microsoft has today released a new feature for Microsoft’s AI-powered camera app for iPhones and iPads.  This update will automatically turn your snapshots into stylistic flair reminiscent like masterpiece paintings and artsy photos. Microsoft mentioned that this feature was developed in collaboration with Microsoft’s Asia research lab and Skype.

Those who are not aware about Microsoft Pix for iOS is an app that uses a suite of intelligent algorithms that are developed by Microsoft researchers. It tries to bring extraordinary effects out of great photos with every tap of the shutter button.

Josh Weisberg within Microsoft’s research organization in Redmond, Washington said that they have tried various things to put of their efforts which were focused on using AI and deep learning to capture better moments and better image quality. They also say these features are more about fun.

Microsoft also says the new features will be well-suited for creating beautifully and attractive for sharing on social media. Microsoft Pix team has also planned to feature social shares from the app with tag of #PixStyling on their  Instagram profile.
