Microsoft recently introduced an interesting feature that connects iPhone or an Android phone to Windows 10 PC. The phone linking phone is available for iPhone and Android devices while Windows Phone users are left behind. Microsoft has indirectly confirmed that this feature won’t be released for Windows 10 Mobile after all.
The feature basically brings Android and iPhone closer to Windows 10. If you enable the linking feature on your PC, you’ll need to install an app on our phone to link both devices. At the moment the feature is limited to the web environment, you can share a link from mobile to your Windows 10 PC. While in the future, Microsoft will also enable the ability to copy and paste the content from Mobile to PC.
Linking feature for Windows Phone
First spotted by Zac Bowden, Microsoft had planned to introduce the linking feature for Windows Phone as well. Android, iPhone and Windows Phone were part of the original linking phone concept but Microsoft decided to test the feature on Android and iPhone.
Due to some unknown reasons, Microsoft scrapped the feature for Windows Phone. As noted above, Microsoft has no plans of releasing ‘phone linking’ feature for Windows 10 Mobile devices.

Seriously thinking about giving up on MS after being a big fan ever since Windows 95. There is no vision left.
No, as much as I hate to say it because I am their phone user, mobile is not in their vision anymore. AI and cloud is, and that's what has been driving up the stock. They are focusing on innovating and Windows 10 Mobile may be a platform they can use in the future in order to achieve that. Steve Ballmer simply focused on competing with Apple by buying Nokia. He should have never done that, and that's pretty much why Nadella killed off the Lumia line. A total disaster.
