It’s been a while since HP launched the Windows 10 Mobile flagship ‘Elite x3’. As the Elite x3 sale didn’t meet the expectations, HP is working on the successor of the Elite x3 but this time it won’t power Windows 10. HP’s successor to the Elite x3 will be powered by Google’s Android operating system as the PC giant has also given up on the Microsoft’s mobile platform.
The reports had revealed that HP is still interested in the concept of Windows 10 on Mobile and the company might launch a mobile device with Andromeda OS when Microsoft’s new OS is ready. As Microsoft has given up Windows 10 Mobile, HP is now planning to launch the Elite x4 or the HP Pro Elite x3, a 3-in-1 device with Android. The combination of smartphone, Desk Dock and Lap Dock makes the Elite x3 successor a 3-in-1 device.
Today, Microsoft Germany Twitter account accidentally leaked the Elite x3 successor and as expected, the device runs Android. The tweet shows an HP Windows 10 PC and a Android phone that looks just like the HP Elite x3. The tweet is basically advertising the new Phone Linking feature that is coming to Windows 10 with the Fall Creators Update. It appears that Microsoft has also accidentally leaked the unreleased HP Elite x3 successor.
“Smartphone users beware: soon you can connect your phone directly to your Windows 10 PC,” Microsoft tweeted. DrWindows confirms that the phone in the photo is not fake as Android is the first option for Elite x3’s successor and HP is already testing the device for 2017 launch.

I really can't see why MS is so keen on Android. My daughter replaced her L650 with a Huawei P10 Lite, 5 days further and I still have not found how to make the standard Phone app use her Outlook address book (anybody can help me?).
If I can't find how to do that, how is somebody who is not interested in technology going to findd out how to do that ? Instead, they are just going to convert their contacts and switch to GMail. How does that help MS in the long run ?
On my Driod when in Outlook choose Settings then Accounts (user) enable Sync contacts slide bar, hope it works.
Thanks a million, that worked. I really can't understand why that isn't enabled by default.
I call it the whack-a-mole phone because the OS resembles the game when I'm trying to find and configure settings...
