Progressive Web Apps are coming soon to the Windows Store for Windows 10 Devices. The PWA (Progressive Web App) uses the latest web technologies to provide a traditional app like experience. At Edge Web Summit 2017 in Seattle, Microsoft announced that they are finally bringing the Progressive Web Apps to the Windows Store.
Microsoft Teams is one of the first PWAs that is coming to the Windows Store in the coming months. Microsoft is trying to deliver a native app-like experience by using the Progressive Web Apps that are apparently the future.
The Progressive Web Apps on Windows 10 will be much better than Android as the PWAs can run without an internet connection and it also supports Windows 10 features such notifications and Live Tiles. The PWAs might help Windows Store to fill the app gap to some extent as it is pretty easy to build the web app.
Microsoft Teams’ Progressive Web App will motivate the companies to launch their own app for Windows 10. Microsoft will bring this technology to Microsoft Edge in October but it will be only to Windows Insiders. Microsoft plans to launch the PWAs for general public next year but there is no exact ETA yet.

Will PWAs be UWP apps..?? These will be PC only apps or these will run on all devices PC, HUB, Mobile & Hololense..?? If these apps will be like UWPs then it will be a game changer for Windows 10 mobile users.
YES. I said to my GF some weeks ago this thing. Web apps are the best apps. Fast update, fantastic perfomance, adaptable to all devices, light weight, and go on. I really really like web apps.
